Another recent fire, this just one block south of 42 Arch (which, even after the fire investigation, still sits unsecure).

This is 24-26, yes? We did outreach to the people living in this property when it was foreclosed a few months ago, if I’m correct the servicer is a scumbag company named Home Island Realty. Also, this street is empty, folks should cover the rest of the empty buildings on there.
I’ve seen home island realty notices on many of the foreclosed homes around here. I’m not sure what street Tom is referring to as unoccupied however- there are several houses nested around the driveway on the right of this property, but they certainly are occupied- legally is another question, but they seem like families there. I’m still trying to get the city to board up 42 Arch, after 2 or 3 weeks of inactivity a fire truck showed up yesterday and they inspected the roof from their ladder, so I am guessing they are still investigating. No response from the councilwoman for the ward.
Tom is right, whoever was in back of this place in the other house is now gone, both properties boarded now.
I spoke with the city council today and have informed me that an order has been placed with the Bldg/Code department of RI to have this house demolished.
I’d call that a win. Let us know when it’s down.

Since the Mayor of Detroit went on record today as saying they need to “downsize” Detroit, we may be seeing more of this. “Parks” are the wave of the future now.
Dumpsters in the driveway, let the tearing begin.
