This house has some nice features. Looks like they are boarding it up one window at a time as they get knocked out.

That’s a cool looking house on a nice sized lot (5,000sqft). Was boarded during the 2001 tax survey as well.
The look of the house suggests that renovation might be “rewarding”. The roof gables and corbelled soffit suggest that it was expensive to construct. The chimney size suggests a fireplace or two. The “band” around the house at floor level suggests modern faming, as opposed to “balloon framing”. That may just be “style”. The time period suggests a cypress panelled dining room. That fire escape is truly unfortunate. It is likely that the interior division does not permit two means of egress from the third floor. I am not sure that the fire escape is “legal” anymore, that would depend on RI/PVD rules. If you cross into Mass, you will see an explosion of exterior, pressure treated, staircases. These replace the metal fire escape ladders.
The dish attennas make me wonder why illegal immigrants always have satellite TV, legal immigrants tend to watch American TV.
Yeah, it does have some nice architectural details. Too bad the fire escape is on the front of the house. I wonder what the RI code is and whether the iron one can stay.
The house is on the stretch of Calla between Broad & Eddy so it’s a heavily-traveled cut-through. Not a super-desirable location.
