Roof was about 40 years past its prime. Has been a suspected vacant for many years (you think?) and the little city data suggests it’s been on the take-down radar since 2006. Formerly a night club at some point.
Demoed just a few weeks ago.

I loved this building when I first happened upon it several years ago. I can’t help trying to imagine what it might have been like brand new. I hate myself for not caring about this kind of thing when I was younger; I could have asked questions of my Grandparents then – they knew Providence well – and they might have filled me in on the backstories of some of these great, old buildings.
It’s painful for me to see that emptied lot. I imagine that it’ll become a 7-11 or a Dunkin Donuts before long.
Oh wow, I always liked that building hadn’t been by in a few weeks I guess. I must have walked by a day or two before it was demoed – I would think about it and what it must be like inside every time I passed by.
It just occurred to me that this building is right next to SWAP’s new business condos on Broad St. Perhaps they were able to motivate the city to demo it.
