Interesting little building. The front chimney tells me it was built after the invention of central heat, probably by “hot air” that simply rose through the house via “grates” in the floor. The rear chimney and roof levels indicates it was an “add on room”, probably a kitchen which either used a kerosene stove or a gas stove with a “gas log” for heat. Neither an electric stove, nor a simple gas stove would require a brick chimnney. Very early gas stoves might have.

I think this is that strange little block of streets between North Main and Rte 95 near the bus terminal, yes?
I looked at this house in 2004; it was for sale then. It was exceedingly creepy on the inside and was in very poor condition -it looked like it hadn’t been occupied in a great many years and hastily applied drop ceilings and linoleum hiding a multitude of sins beneath.
