This house is in the Valley neighborhood which has been hit pretty hard. The house looks to have been bought by Homesale Inc. January for $62584 and then resold to another person at Homesale Inc. in March for 25K. Not really sure what that’s all about. I tried to look up info on Homesale Inc. and couldn’t find much. I guess they are now owned by JP Morgan after they were sold by Fremont Investments.

Not quite sure on the exact address of this house since it has no number on it and I can’t find it on the Prov Plan records, Google says its 651 so we’ll go with that. This house has looked this sad since I can remember (5 years at least). I’m not really sure what the deal is, but I saw someone putting up more boards on the windows a few weeks ago. Anyone have any more info? Also not surprising to see this grafitti across the street, not hard to see where they got their inspiration.

Yet another house on Julian St. Same story as all the others, it’s amazing. Bought for 40k in late 90’s. Sold a year or so later for a 100% profit, then a foreclosure. Bought for 40k again, sold for a 100% profit, then sold again and again basically every year up until 08 (where it almost hits 300k) and now the party’s over. I really wonder if this street still has a chance of survival. I did actually see contractors working on these houses which was a good sign because all four similar houses were boarded up only a few weeks ago.

Julian St. as I mentioned before has been one of the hardest hit streets I have visited. This foreclosed house is listed on the market for 51k.  Hard to imagine it was purchased for close to 300k a few years ago. Someone with a stencil threw up some graffiti on the boarded up windows of this house and its next door neighbor.

Another sad house in Olneyville. Can’t locate the property card but I’d say it was inhabited until the fire.

Julian Street has been one of the worst hit streets I have visited in the Olneyville area. Take a look at it on google maps and see the difference a year or so makes.

The last sale listed for this house built in the 1800’s was in 04 for 245k. Check the google street view to see a for sale sign in the yard (probably from late 07 or 08). Looks like it has been left to rot since. There is access everywhere to this house, take your pick…windows, fire escapes, back door. Im sure the next door neighbor is extremely concerned, oh wait, that house is boarded up too….

What is this building? Tax code says it’s good for a two – five family residence. I have my doubts. And stucco. It’s always wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. I vote to take this one down.

Newly boarded up. Wasn’t more than a couple weeks and the copper was already gone and house graffitied up. No current access but there is graffiti on the inside of the top windows. House has been occupied the entire time I have lived in Providence, until now (8 years).

I have noticed more graffiti lately in the area around this house.
